Eng Tay is an artist originally from Kedah, Malaysia, who later relocated to New York City. He began his artistic journey by studying at The Art Students League in 1968 and graduated as a graphic designer from The School of Visual Arts in 1972. Initially, he worked in the graphic arts field until 1978, when he embarked on a series of painting trips throughout South America and Indonesia, which greatly influenced his subject matter.

Eng Tay's art is characterized by its focus on scenes and moments, particularly those involving people playing music, family interactions, market scenes, and daily rituals. He steadily gained international recognition as his work was exhibited in various countries, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United States.

His artistic portfolio spans several media, including limited edition etchings, painting, and sculpture. However, much of his work revolves around the theme of family, encompassing the poetry of familial relationships, man and woman, children, friendship, music, and the natural world.

Eng Tay currently resides in New York City and maintains an active creative life, producing paintings, sculptures, and etchings in his studio in TriBeCa. His art continues to capture the essence of human connections and everyday life experiences.
