Water color by Maamor jantan ... Full size

Maamor Jantan was born in 1961 in Kulim, Kedah. In early 1980's , he started as an machinist in Petaling Jaya, and then as an curator's assistant in an art gallery in Kuala Lumpur where were introduced him to visual arts and his new life as as " ARTIST "
In 1984, very lucky of him got to know Khalil Ibrahim, who became his mentor till date . They went into a wonderful world of art together after informal tutelage and companionship from Khalil's for more than a decade. With his natural flair in watercolour, Maamor progressed rapidly and was soon one of the most notable young artists around.
His encounter artworks with title : "Cak Cibor" was a local Malay dialect from Perak that means dragonfly.which reflects the artist’s intimate attachment with nature.
Hence, He joined the Malaysian Watercolour Society and participated in more than 70 exhibitions, locally and abroad. He attracts friends and supporters from all walks of life with his gentle and open manner.
