Painting by M Nasir
Mohamad Nasir had attended the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts graduating with a diploma in Western painting,[2] originally wanting to become an artist. He was roped into music making in 1978 when a friend of his Wan Ibrahim, then executive producer of Polygram Singapore, had invited him to write song lyrics for the band Alleycats, who were rising in popularity at that time.[2]
Nasir decided to venture into singing, releasing debut album Untuk Pencinta Seni/Pelukis under the name of Mohamad MN in 1981, which ended up being a flop. He moved on to form folk rock act Kembara with four other members; A. Ali, S. Sahlan, and siblings Abby and Eddie Ali. The Ali siblings however left the group early on the band's formation due to disagreements on picking what genre they were to take.[1]
Kembara released their own self-titled debut album, which became a commercial success with 25,000 copies sold.[2] The band went on releasing six albums riding on their fame until their disbandment in late 1985.[1]
In past 2 years, TAPAK gallery owned by Yusof Ghani had held a solo exhibition for M. Nasir.

Voon Kim Cheong
Voon is very fascinated by the sight and sound of our Malaysian cultural dances, particularly drums and the drummers. He look at a round-shaped drums as the amalgamation of the sun and moon. They have active and passive characteristics, but rely on the drummers to bring out the best vital – bring the strength and vibrancy to the team!
There is a tremendous energy and movement which emanates from the works of Voon Kim Cheong – a resonance and a vibrancy which almost catches the casual viewer off-guard with stunningly beautiful paintings.
In Voon’s vivacious oil canvases, reminiscent of Italian Futurism, curved kites dart and sway in the wind – tossing and turning amidst turbulent thermals. Gyroscopically spinning tops whirl and jostle while lively multi-racial drummers pound out the country’s life beat, reverberating and resonating with a dynamic passion displayed in a sultry equatorial Malaysia.

Painting by fendy Zakri
Fendy Zakri was born in 1982. Ipoh-born Fendy Zakri has a primal relationship with his art.He talks about appreciation of mystery and women, and in the same breath addresses – with much enthusiasm – topics like lust, desire and artistic taste.
His work might look like a mess of colours and lines on canvas, but Fendy insists that every stroke of the brush is deliberate, every line is carefully composed – not unlike what happens behind the scenes with an orchestrated car crash in an action movie.
"I play with space, texture, colours, form, composition and balance ... and then distort it to make my artwork look abstract. And to hide the images within my painting even better, I explore ambiguous space, flat space and deep space," he says.
Fendy's works ais available for sell in our gallery. please contact or whats app Mary 016 9503168 for further details.

Fadilah Karim - Smoking Series
Born in Batu Pahat in Johor, the 29-year-old who holds a master’s degree in Fine Art and Technology from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), discovered her love for art through children’s colouring contests that she joined as a child. This passion stuck with her through thick and thin, but even while pursuing her studies in art, she shares that being an artist always felt like a mere dream.
“The most rewarding thing about being an artist,” she confides, “is seeing your work up on someone’s wall. It is very satisfying when I can finally step back and look at my finished work. And when people appreciate and enjoy your work, this is what makes it all worthwhile.”
Her group exhibitions include Being Human: Figuratism of 16 Malaysian Artists, Art Stage Singapore (2015), Deceitful Truth, Galeri Chandan, Kuala Lumpur (2011), Transit A4, House of Matahati (HOM) Art Transit, Kuala Lumpur (2012), Young Guns, Kuala Lumpur (2013), Sekaki, Segaris Art Centre, Kuala Lumpur (2013), Young Guns, Penang, Singapore (2014), and Mystory, HOM Art Trans (2014).
